London-based global investor and distributor The Story Lab has entered into a strategic partnership with London- and Los Angeles-based prodco Renowned Films to co-create cross-platform factual content for global audiences.
The agreement covers two years, in which the two companies will develop major projects together.
The first project born out of the partnership is You Are Not A Loan, a social experiment factual series in which a town’s collective debt is pooled. Over the course of a year, the show will follow 30 people from the town living in a single postcode, working together to wipe out £500,000 (US$623,000) in just 12 months.
Renowned will produce You Are Not A Loan, initially for the UK and key international markets, and The Story Lab will handle the global rights and brand partnerships.
