Hulu revealed a new original food programming series to be headlined by Padma Lakshmi as part of the digital streamer’s Television Critics Association’s summer press tour on Friday (July 26).

The Untitled Padma Lakshmi Series will take viewers across the country, with each episode beginning with a single dish that represents and connects to a community’s history and traditions.

The series looks at culinary traditions of the first Americans to the latest immigrants, and follows the evolution of a traditional recipe in the hands of different families and waves of immigration that results in new approaches.

Lakshmi will bring her own perspectives and personal connections into the 10 x 30-minute episodic series, as she immerses herself in the communities from around the world that have settled in America, from family recipes and street food to high-end restaurants.

Part2 Pictures produces the series.
