A+E Networks’ History is remembering the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001 with the two-hour documentary 9/11: Inside Air Force One, from Red Arrow Studios’ New York-based prodco Left/Right.
Premiering Sept. 11 at 9 p.m. ET/PT, the documentary takes viewers aboard Air Force One and into the cockpits, command centers and underground bunkers across the country as officials grapple with the news of the attacks.
9/11: Inside Air Force One features interviews with former leaders President George W. Bush, Vice President Dick Cheney and Chief of Staff Andy Card, as well as the pilot of Air Force One, United States Secret Service agents, and intelligence and military aides on board.
The documentary also reveals the recently declassified transcript of the conversation among the nation’s military and civilian high command, known as the Air Threat Conference Call, which highlights the real-time struggles of the country’s leaders to make sense of the scale of the attack, to formulate a coherent response, and to keep President Bush safe.
Left/Right co-founders Ken Druckerman and Banks Tarver are executive producers on the documentary, along with Jeff Cooperman of Left/Right. Executive producer for History is Zachary Behr, VP of programming.
