American cable television network Hallmark Drama, owned by Hallmark Cards’ Crown Media Family Networks division, has commissioned the five-part weekly baking competition Hallmark’s Christmas Cookie Matchup.

Hosted by General Hospital actor Jack Wagner, the series will feature a group of two-person teams consisting of one amateur baker alongside a different star from Hallmark Channel’s primetime drama When Calls the Heart.

Each episode will see leading food and baking personalities Chadwick Boyd (pictured, left) and Emily Hutchinson (right) eliminating one team from the competition each week as contestants are pitted in a variety of Christmas cookie and holiday dessert challenges. The final team of cookie connoisseurs standing will take home a US$25,000 grand prize.

Cast members from When Calls the Heart, including Erin Krakow, Pascale Hutton, Kavan Smith, Chris McNally, Kevin McGarry, Paul Greene and Andrea Brooks, serve as apprentices to each contestant.

Christmas Cookie Matchup is slated to premiere on Hallmark Drama this holiday season.
