London-based, high-end factual label Arrow Pictures has bolstered its development department with the appointment of former Lightbox and Raw TV documentary producer Poppy Dixon.
Dixon (pictured) joins John Smithson and Iain Pelling‘s Arrow Pictures – which launched in December 2018 – as a development executive with the responsibility of growing the company’s slate of feature documentaries, high-end docuseries and scripted content.
Her past credits include the BAFTA-winning feature-length documentary The Imposter (co-producer), acclaimed doc-narrative feature hybrid American Animals (documentary producer), the Harvey Weinstein doc Untouchable (producer), Three Identical Strangers (development producer), and Silk Road: Drugs, Death and the Dark Web (producer).
Most recently, Dixon served as a producer and development executive at Jonathan and Simon Chinn‘s Lightbox, where she produced Untouchable. Prior to that, she spent eight years as a producer at Raw TV, and was also head of development: feature documentaries and specials.
Before joining Raw, Dixon worked on a number of projects with John Smithson at Darlow Smithson, including the highly acclaimed 9/11; Phone Calls from the Towers.
“We have had a huge amount of interest in our ideas since we launched in December, so we are delighted to have Poppy on board to help fuel our growth,” said Smithson, creative director at Arrow Pictures, in a statement. “With nearly 15 years’ experience of working in factual film and TV, in both the UK and New York, Poppy brings a strong production background, combined with intellectual rigor and storytelling flair. She has originated, developed and produced a wealth of program ideas, with much domestic and international success. She is a great asset to our team.”
