Antwerp, Belgium-headquartered production outfit Eccholine has added Peter Van den Bussche to its team to head up the company’s UK operations.
Van den Bussche (pictured) joins Eccholine from global media and marketing services company Mindshare where he oversaw branded content projects, and New York-based media investment group MCap where he led alternative television production funding initiatives.
Prior to that, the television and media exec managed content and program investment projects for Omnicom Media Group Global Investment, including Omnicom UK’s program finance partnerships with commercial UK network ITV and UK telecommunications company Sky.
In addition, Van den Bussche has held a number of executive roles over his 20-plus years in the media industry, including as head of international sales at Endemol Entertainment, VP of international format distribution at 20th Century Fox TV Distribution, head of business development at Zodiak Media Group, and managing director of D&D Productions Belgium.
“The time is right to offer our added value to a broader circle and to reach out to the independent creatives, the superindies and the international SVOD platforms,” said Eccholine president Ludo Poppe, in a statement. “The UK is where these future partners operate as it is one of the most dynamic creative TV markets in the world. Peter’s in-depth understanding of this market puts Eccholine in an excellent position to set-up shop there and take this next step.”
“I have already started reaching out to production companies, broadcasters and SVOD platforms with a clear message: let’s partner on old and new formats and let us help your formats travel as we did for Peking Express and Ninja Warrior,” added Van den Bussche.
Eccholine specializes in producing ambitious formats like reality game show Peking Express, sports entertainment competition Ninja Warrior and competition format Nomads for international broadcast. The company has line-produced more than 45 series of Peking Express for 16 territories to date, including for M6 France, Rai2 Italy and TVN Poland, and has set up the Ninja Warrior obstacle course for 25 series including for ITV UK, TF1 France and RTL Germany.
Eccholine is headquartered in Antwerp, Belgium and has localized production offices in Bangkok, Thailand.
Van den Bussche will join Eccholine at this month’s MIPCOM market in Cannes where the company will unveil a raft of new formats while also marking the 15th anniversary of Peking Express.
