Discovery-owned Food Network is launching a new competition format centered on the iconic Girl Scout Cookies, hosted by Alyson Hannigan, former Girl Scout and star of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, American Pie and How I Met Your Mother.
Girl Scout Cookie Championship is a four-episode series in which professional bakers use Girl Scout Cookies to create decadent desserts. Nacho Aguirre and Katie Lee serve as judges, joined each episode by a rotating third judge, including Carla Hall. Lee and Hall join Hannigan as Girl Scout alums.
The show is produced in partnership with Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA).
“We are thrilled to collaborate with Girl Scouts of the USA to celebrate the Girl Scout Cookie Program and those iconic cookies that are anticipated all year long,” said Food Network president Courtney White in a statement. “Now fans will be doubly rewarded with the coinciding launch of Girl Scout Cookie Championship, showcasing bold, show-stopping creations starring beloved treats like Thin Mints and Tagalongs/Peanut Butter Patties.”
“Food Network’s Girl Scout Cookie Championship gives consumers one more reason to love Girl Scout Cookie season and presents a great opportunity to better understand what it means to be a Girl Scout,” added GSUSA CEO Sylvia Acevedo. “In addition to the delicious treats the show will be serving up, viewers will gain insight into all the amazing things Girl Scouts do: having adventurous outdoor experiences, exploring the latest in STEM, boldly creating positive change in the world — and of course, participating in the largest girl-led entrepreneurship program in the world: the Girl Scout Cookie Program.”
Production is currently underway and the series is set to premiere in the first quarter of 2020, during Girl Scout Cookie season.
