Viacom Media Networks-owned pay-TV network Nickelodeon has set an early November premiere date for its family music competition format America’s Most Musical Family.
Produced by Industrial Media’s Emmy Award-winning The Intellectual Property Corporation (IPC), America’s Most Musical Family will feature 30 family bands taking the stage for an opportunity to win a recording contract with Republic Records and a US$250,000 cash prize.
The series kicks off with five bands in head-to-head competition with their own take on hit songs. The groups include Nashville’s The Rees Family (“Walking on Sunshine”); New Jersey’s Wanmor (“It’s So Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday”); Rancho Santa Margarita, California’s Juat Sibs (“Honeymoon Avenue”); West Palm Beach, Florida’s Juna N Joey (“Beautiful Crazy”); and San Jacinto, California’s The Mitchells (“We Got the Beat”).
Celebrity judges on the series include Grammy Award-winning artist Ciara, YouTube personality David Dobrik, Broadway star Debbie Gibson and singer and television personality Nick Lachey.
America’s Most Musical Family is directed by Julia Knowles.
IPC’s Eli Holzman, Aaron Saidman, Claire Kosloff and showrunner Jeff Boggs serve as executive producers. Ciara also serves as executive producer, alongside Republic Records and Nickelodeon’s Rob Bagshaw and Paul J Medford.
The production is overseen for Nickelodeon by Rob Bagshaw, Nick’s EVP of unscripted content.
America’s Most Musical Family is to premiere on Nov. 1 at 7 p.m. ET/PT on Nickelodeon.
The premiere will also simulcast across BET, MTV, MTV2, Nicktoons, Paramount Network, TeenNick, TV Land and VH1, with new episodes airing every Friday night on Nickelodeon.
