Veteran TV executive Andrea Hamilton and London-based Modest! Management, owned by Harry Magee and Richard Griffiths, have teamed to form ModestTV.
The newly-minted prodco has already been commissioned to produce the seven-part performance series Little Mix: The Search for BBC1 and Football Stars in Bad Cars for BBC3.
Little Mix: The Search (7 x 80 minutes) sees the British girl group Little Mix search for singers to be part of a new super group. The series is slated to debut next year.
In Football Stars in Bad Cars, the athletes will drive Britain’s “ugliest car” while being interviewed by BBC Radio 1′s Chris Stark. When the driving is done, the car will be sold to raise funds for Sport Relief.
Hamilton, previously COO at OMTV, served as executive producer on a raft of shows for the BBC such as Strictly Come Dancing, The Voice and So You Think You Can Dance.
She will take on the role of chief creative officer at ModestTV. Stefan Iriarte, previously head of development at Panda TV, joins as creative director.
“Modest! Management look after some of the most popular and successful music artists in the business – whilst television has always been about talent, it’s more prevalent than ever and so starting a company together to help maximize the opportunities for the talent, along with other format ideas, is an exciting place to be,” Hamilton said in a statement.
