Discovery-owned home improvement cable net HGTV is launching a new series in which an entire town in need of a renovation gets the home reno treatment.
Home Town Rescue (working title) sees husband and wife celebrity home renovators Ben and Erin Napier working with the members of one community to renovate multiple individual homes in the town and upgrade public spaces like parks, local diners and recreational centers.
The Napiers currently star in HGTV’s Home Town, in which they help rebuild their own community in Laurel, Mississippi.
The series is produced by Toronto-based RTR Media for HGTV.
“Home Town Rescue is exactly what fans of Ben and Erin have been asking for and it will change one lucky community in a powerful and significant way,” said Betsy Ayala, HGTV’s SVP of programming and development, in a statement. “We’ve seen how Ben and Erin put their heart and soul into every incredible renovation. It’s time for another town to benefit from their experience and expertise. This time, a different community will see their hometown restored to its former glory.”
Home Town Rescue is slated to premiere on HGTV in 2021. A premiere date has not yet been set.
