MTV to launch inaugural Reality Con in London
Viacom-owned youth net MTV UK is set to launch its first ever Reality Con in London.
Featured guests will include Charlotte Crosby, originally of Geordie Shore fame, and ex-The Only Way Is Essex star Joey Essex.
Reality Con will run from May 8-10 next year at Exhibition London, Shepherd’s Bush.
Mike Wallace Is Here to stream on Hulu
Disney-owned streaming service Hulu has picked up feature-length doc Mike Wallace Is Here, launching today (Nov. 28) on the service.
Mike Wallace Is Here (pictured), which premiered at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival, follows the career of veteran newsman Wallace, whose confrontational, no-holds-barred style of journalism influenced generations of reporters.
The film is directed by Avi Belkin. It is a Drexler Films presentation of a Delirio Films Production, in association with Passion Pictures and Rock Paper Scissors Entertainment. Rafael Marmor, John Battsek, Peggy Drexler, Avi Belkin and Christopher Leggett serve as producers, with Angus Wall executive producing.
Insight TV expands footprint in Switzerland
Global content creator and TV channel Insight TV has launched on Liberty Global-owned Swiss cable operator UPC.
“UPC is the largest cable operator in Switzerland making it the ideal partner to feature our vivid content,” said Graeme Stanley, commercial director of Insight TV, in a statement. “This launch demonstrates our commitment to Switzerland and our continued expansion across Europe. With this launch, Insight TV is now available across all major platforms in Switzerland including Swisscom, Salt and Sunrise.”
Insight TV series available on the service include Street Kings in Jail, the recently launched eSports show Modern Day Gladiators and the upcoming Ghost Chasers: Exploring the Other Side.
Breakthrough Entertainment dives into Cruise Ship Killers to A+E Networks UK
Breakthrough Entertainment has sold the series Cruise Ship Killers to A+E Networks UK’s true crime channel Crime + Investigation.
The 26 x 60-minute series from Farpoint Films seeks to expose the considerable risk of death, especially for women, in the billion-dollar cruise ship industry.
The deal covers the UK and Ireland, Poland, Central Eastern Europe, the Netherlands and Belgium, Greece and the Middle East.
A premiere date on Crime + Investigation has not yet been set.
