Viacom-owned youth cable net MTV is expanding its True Life franchise with a new true crime investigative series.

True Life Crime follows journalist and MTV News host Dometi Pongo as he investigates crimes committed against young people, seeking to answer haunting questions and expose the truth.

The eight-episode docuseries explores several high-profile cases: the Kenneka Jenkins case in Chicago; the Sarah Stern Casein Neptune, NJ; the Lesandro “Junior” Guzman-Feliz case in the Bronx, New York; the Jerika Binks case in American Fork, Utah; Mujey Dumbuya case in Grand Rapids, Michigan; the “5-million-dollar Hack” case; the Kedarie Johnson case in Burlington, Iowa; and the Hanna Harris case in Lame Deer/Billings, Montana.

True Life Crime is produced by Left/Right, Karga 7 Pictures and Good Caper Content for MTV.

The docuseries premieres Jan. 8 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on MTV and VH1.
