Discovery-owned wildlife channel Animal Planet has appointed former E! executive Amy Introcaso-Davis as executive vice president of development and production.

In the posting, the four-time Emmy Award winner (pictured) will be tasked with managing all aspects of the network’s development and programming slate, including strategy across all formats, and will work closely with the creative community to deliver content.

Based in Los Angeles, Introcaso-Davis reports to Nancy Daniels, chief brand officer for Discovery & Factual.

Introcaso-Davis most recently served as EVP of development and production at E! until a restructuring at NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment’s Lifestyle Group in September brought on her departure from the network. During her two-year tenure at E!, Introcaso-Davis was responsible for realigning the network’s development strategy and the commissioning of such series as Very Cavallari and the reboot of The Soup.

Prior to this, Introcaso-Davis served as EVP of programming and development at GSN, where she oversaw scheduling, acquisitions, program strategy, development and production. Before joining GSN, she was SVP of original programming at Oxygen Media and earlier held the title of SVP of development at Bravo where her programming credits include Queer Eye for the Straight Guy and The Real Housewives of Orange County, among others.

“Amy is a talented storyteller and incredibly passionate about the business of making compelling television,” said Daniels in a statement. “Her many strengths revolve around her ability to identify and create breakthrough programming as well as branding content across all platforms. Her track record of hit series that continuously break into the cultural zeitgeist proves she has the perfect creative instincts to take our programming to the next level.”
