American musician Chance the Rapper (Chancelor Jonathan Bennett) has signed on to host Quibi’s previously-announced reboot of Punk’d, from MTV Studios and STXtelevision.

Bennett will step into the director’s chair to put unsuspecting celebrities through “over-the-top” situations in each bite-sized episode of the reimagined series, with hidden cameras capturing each hoax.

Celebrity “marks” will be announced at a later date, according to MTV Studios. STX Entertainment’s Jason Goldberg is executive producer.

“Punk’d is one of MTV’s most iconic franchises,” Bennett said in a statement. “I grew up watching this show and it’s surreal to be in the driver’s seat this time around on Quibi.”

Short-form, mobile streamer Quibi — short for “quick bites” — is slated to launch April 6.
