A new keynote session has been unveiled to kick off this year’s edition of the Realscreen Summit: a special live taping of Jimmy Fox’s “Unscripted and Unprepared” podcast, featuring dynamic producing duo Dan Cutforth and Jane Lipsitz.
Earlier in 2019, Cutforth and Lipsitz, the team behind such iconic unscripted franchises as Bravo’s Top Chef and Project Runway, established their latest production venture, Alfred Street Industries, named for the West Hollywood street where their first production company, Magical Elves, was born. In just its first several months, Alfred Street has secured series greenlights from Quibi — including the upcoming Chrissy’s Court featuring Chrissy Teigen — and Amazon and Netflix, among others. Cutforth and Lipsitz also continue to produce National Geographic’s Brain Games and Bravo’s seminal Project Runway (with season 18 having premiered in December) under the Alfred Street Industries banner.
Officially establishing their partnership as Magical Elves in 2001, Cutforth and Lipsitz have won numerous Emmys, as well as a Peabody Award; IDA Award; SXSW Audience Award; and a James Beard Award. In addition to the Emmy-winning Project Runway and Top Chef, hit series include Netflix’s Nailed It! and Sugar Rush; Oxygen’s Cold Justice and Cold Justice: Sex Crimes; Showtime’s IDA Award-winning documentary Time of Death; and WE tv’s Braxton Family Values. In 2011 they produced the feature film Justin Bieber: Never Say Never, followed by their directorial debut in 2012, Katy Perry: Part of Me, both for Paramount Pictures.
Dan and Jane will be interviewed by Main Event Media founder and executive producer Jimmy Fox, for an upcoming edition of the popular podcast “Unscripted and Unprepared,” produced by Fox in partnership with Realscreen.
The session takes place on Monday, January 27 at 10 a.m, at the Grand Ballroom A/B. The keynote speaker originally scheduled, Jacqueline Parkes of Viacom CBS, had to withdraw due to unforeseen circumstances
