WarnerMedia-owned CNN has greenlit the four-part culinary docuseries Stanley Tucci: Searching for Italy from London-headquartered Raw TV, the production company behind Gold Rush and Three Identical Strangers, Realscreen has confirmed.
The series will see Tucci (pictured) travel across Italy on a food tour, learning about the history of dishes native to regions such as Tuscany, Rome, Sicily and Milan in order to better understand the country’s culture and people. For example, the actor will learn how wealth and poverty impacted the cuisine in Tuscany’s capital city of Florence.
CNN’s unscripted slate has most recently included the six-part docuseries The Windsors: Inside the Royal Dynasty, which will chronicle the history of the British royal family.
All3Media-owned Raw TV previously partnered with CNN for the docuseries The Bush Years: Family, Duty, Power. In December, the prodco premiered its first docuseries for Netflix, Don’t F**K With Cats: Hunting an Internet Killer.
