American distillers will go head to head in Discovery Channel’s new “booze-making” competition series Master Distiller, from New York-based Magilla Entertainment.

Judged by Moonshiners talent Mark Ramsey (pictured left), Eric “Digger” Manes (right) and Tim Smith (center), three competitors will face off each week in a series of challenges focused on making a specific type of spirit, such as American whiskey, rum, gin, mountain brandy and mezcal.

America’s legal and “outlaw” distillers will prove their knowledge of the craft and demonstrate “profound creativity” as they convert raw, local ingredients into handcrafted spirits.

The champion of each episode will get a limited release of their winning recipe at a major craft distillery.

Master Distiller premieres March 3 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on Discovery Channel.

Executive producers for Magilla Entertainment are Matthew Ostrom, Laura Palumbo Johnson, Jason Fox and Cristin Cricco-Powell. For Discovery Channel, executive producer is Bill Howard and associate producer is Paola Espinosa.
