MGM has tagged industry vet Paul Evans as head of development at the studio’s recently-launched UK unscripted television division – the body tasked with development of formats and original IP for content providers in the UK.

Evans’ career got its start on Planet 24′s Big Breakfast, before going on to roles on Survivor, Big Brother, Love Island and I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here! He’s also held senior development and production roles at some of the UK’s top prodcos, including Lime Pictures, Pulse Films, Studio Lambert, ITV Studios, BBC Studios and U.S. studio Gunpowder & Sky.

Evans also previously served as head of development at Primal Media, spearheading projects such as Home Free for C4, Carnage for Sky One, and ITV’s Rose d’Or award-winning game show Bigheads.

Evans reports to Dom Bird, MGM’s SVP of international unscripted television, who said of the appopintment: “I’m delighted that Paul is joining us at MGM in the UK. He has a stellar reputation as a true creative thinker and talented development leader and as our team grows, we are incredibly excited to be able to approach broadcasters and all platforms with an exceptional development capability.”
