Former BBC Studios (BBCS) executive Roberta Allan has joined Australian pubcaster ABC as head of content curation and distribution within its Entertainment and Specialist division.
Allan (pictured) will be responsible for managing the distribution of all Australian content and acquisitions across ABC TV, ABC iview, ABC listen and on social media when she joins the pubcaster in November.
She joins the ABC from the Sydney-based office of BBC Studios where she served as head of advertising and programming for factual and kids’ content in Australia and New Zealand. The executive was also responsible for brand partnerships and commercial advertising for BBC Earth, CBeebies and BBC Brit channels in an acting capacity.
Her previous roles within BBCS include head of acquisitions in Australia and New Zealand, and head of programming for BBC Studios’ Australian channels of UKTV, BBC First, BBC Knowledge and CBeebies.
Before her time at BBCS, Allan was a programming manager for the channels TV1 and SF Australia, with responsibility for programming, acquisitions and media planning.
