ITN Productions has promoted Ian Rumsey, formerly the director of television production, to managing director of the UK outfit.
Rumsey (pictured) takes up the role today (Sept. 2), and will continue to lead the TV production team.
ITN Productions news and archive teams, headed up by Tami Hoffman, will now report directly to him.
Rumsey joined the company — the production arm of ITV-owned ITN, founded in 2010 — in 2013 as head of topical programs. He then became director of TV production in 2018.
Previously, he worked at ITN as head of output for ITV News and program editor of News at Ten.
ITN Productions creates documentaries, live programs, current affairs and popular factual docs for UK and international broadcasters and streamers including Channel 5, Channel 4, BBC, ITV+, Netflix, Discovery, Vice and Oxygen.
Under Rumsey, the company’s slate of programming — which includes crime, history, travel, royal programs, access and topical debate — has grown significantly with close to 700 hours commissioned so far in 2020. ITN Productions is on track to reach its highest-ever number of broadcast hours.
This year, Rumsey also oversaw the opening of a new regional production office in Leeds.
