British pubcaster BBC has commissioned a new primetime game show to be hosted by multi-Michelin starred chef and television personality Gordon Ramsay (Hell’s KitchenMasterChef) for BBC1.

Details on gameplay for Bank Balance, to be produced by Studio Ramsay, are few, but it is billed by the network as a “high-pressure game show” where contestants compete to build a fortune for themselves by utilizing “precision, knowledge and nerve” or risk losing it all in an instant.

Filming on the game show will begin later this year. It serves as Ramsay’s first foray into non-culinary game formats.

Bank Balance is executive produced by Gordon Ramsay and Lisa Edwards for Studio Ramsay. It was devised and produced by Studio Ramsay’s Fernando De Jesus, Tom Day, Sam Smaïl and Bronson Payne.

The game show was commissioned by BBC’s Kate Phillips, controller of entertainment commissioning. Jo Wallace executive produces on behalf of the BBC.

“This is going to be truly epic. It is such an intense game with so much jeopardy to win big and lose even bigger, where the difference between failure and success is always in the balance,” said Ramsay in a statement.
