Frances Berwick has revealed the executive team for NBCUniversal’s Entertainment Business today (Sept. 16) a month after the former Lifestyle Networks president was charged with leading the division following a reorganization of the mediaco’s television and streaming businesses.
The announcement comes as Chris McCumber, who led USA Network and Syfy as president of Entertainment Networks, announced he would be departing NBCUniversal after nearly two decades.
Reporting to Berwick (pictured), Jeff Bader will lead program planning, adding the six cable entertainment networks to his current NBC oversight, bringing his programming experience to optimize viewing across all platforms and drive strategic windowing of content.
Val Boreland, meanwhile, is expanding her responsibilities of buying and curating content across the Entertainment and Lifestyle cable group to oversee acquisitions across all of NBCU’s networks and platforms, including recently launched streamer Peacock.
As head of the Entertainment Business unit, Berwick is tasked with mapping out programming strategy and content spend across the NBC broadcast network and the cable entertainment networks. She has operational oversight of all networks and dayparts and is responsible for commissioning and acquiring content to be optimized across these platforms.
