Chef in Your Ear commissioned in Italy, Chile
Global format studio The Format People has secured two additional international adaptations of its culinary reality format Chef In Your Ear.
The cooking series features two professional chefs working with two novice cooks as they attempt to deliver restaurant-quality dishes. The amateurs wear ear-pieces, taking instruction from a chef whom they have been paired with, and who is locked away in a booth, unable to smell or taste the food.
The format has been acquired by Italian channel La7 and Chile’s Chilevisión, bringing the total territories broadcasting the cooking series to date to 12. Additional deals across Latin America are pending.
In Italy, the full studio adaptation – locally titled Senti Chi Mangia – is presented by Bake Off host Benedetta Parodi and comprises 35 daily episodes in access-primetime. The deal was negotiated by distributor Warner Bros International TV Production.
In Chile, the series will be known locally as Oye Al Chef! Commissioned by Chilevisión and hosted by journalist Emilia Daiber (pictured), the series will feature celebrity novices and will be broadcast later this month.
Chef in Your Ear is currently produced in English- and French-speaking Canada, Belgium, Holland, France, Germany, Mexico, Mongolia, South Korea and Brazil.
