Following the departure earlier this week of its CEO, All3Media America has named former Propagate Content executive Ivan Garel-Jones as its chief operating officer.
Garel-Jones (pictured) will be tasked with overseeing all operations, business affairs and legal to bolster All3Media’s U.S. business.
He reports directly into Sara Geater, group COO of All3Media.
Garel-Jones most recently served as COO of Propagate Content, the Los Angeles indie helmed by Ben Silverman and Howard T. Owens. During his nearly four-year tenure there, he was responsible for managing business and legal affairs, production and finance.
Prior to Propagate he was EVP of business affairs at ITV Studios U.S. Group, now ITV America, where he was part of the team responsible for building the group through acquisitions, which included Leftfield Entertainment among several others.
“We have a major opportunity to develop our footprint in America and I am looking forward to working with Ivan, along with the U.S. and UK teams, as we focus on building on the fantastic commercial success that has already been achieved,” All3Media Group CEO Jane Turton said in a statement.
The move follows the news earlier this week that Tim Pastore, most recently CEO of All3Media America, was leaving the company, effective immediately. No replacement has been named and the American outpost of the global producer-distributor is now under the direct leadership of Jane Turton and Sara Geater.
Elsewhere, distributor All3Media International struck a strategic partnership with Glasgow-headquartered indie Two Rivers Media.
Under terms of the deal, All3media International will support the development of several scripted and non-scripted titles from Two Rivers. The distributor will also represent the rights for the resulting titles on the international marketplace.
Escape to the Chateau: Make Do & Mend, a copro between Two Rivers and Chateau Television for Channel 4, marks the first non-scripted project from the company to be distributed by All3Media International. The series features Dick and Angel Strawbridge as they offer up tips and tricks for families looking for imaginative ways to solve their DIY dilemmas.
Launched in early 2019 and led by Alan Clements, former director of content at STV Productions, Two Rivers Media specializes in creating compelling content across documentaries, specialist factual, formats, entertainment, fact-ent and drama.
“Establishing strong strategic alliances in the industry is a key element of realizing our ambition to build Two Rivers Media into a production powerhouse,” said Clements, MD of Two Rivers, in a statement.
