WarnerMedia-backed basic cable channel truTV has greenlit the unscripted comedy prank series Double Cross with Blake Griffin.

Produced by Propagate Content’s comedy label Big Breakfast and Griffin’s Mortal Media, the series will pair the Detroit Pistons’ power forward and six-time NBA All-Star with individuals who are all too often the victims of a prank.

Each week, Griffin (pictured) will help those seeking to get revenge on their friends or family after initially being embarrassed in a prank by pulling off the “ultimate double cross.”

Double Cross with Blake Griffin will air on truTV in 2021.

truTV is producing the prank series in consultation with local authorities, unions and medical experts.

Double Cross with Blake Griffin is executive produced by Big Breakfast’s Luke Kelly-Clyne and Kevin Healey; Propagate’s Ben Silverman and Howard T. Owens; and Mortal Media’s Blake Griffin, Ryan Kalil and Noah Weinstein.

“Growing up, my parents always taught me to stand up for myself. If someone takes your favorite toy, you take it back… And if someone crosses you… you assemble a team of professional actors, concoct an elaborate story, set up 12 hidden cameras and you cross them right back,” said Griffin in a statement.

“truTV has perfected the art of the good-natured prank, and Double Cross is adding a new unexpected twist, turning the tables on unsuspecting pranksters,” added Corie Henson, EVP and head of unscripted programming for TBS, TNT and truTV. “People already know Blake Griffin dominates on the court. What they may not know is that he is also wickedly funny, mischievous, and he is as serious about his play off the court as on.”
