Naked Television managing director Fatima Salaria has been appointed executive chair of the Edinburgh TV Festival and its umbrella charity, the TV Foundation.

Salaria (pictured) will oversee the festival and foundation’s executive committee and work with the festival team across the operational side of the organization as well as in its charitable endeavors.

She takes over from So Television co-founder and MD Graham Stuart, who leaves after three years in the role.

The executive formerly served as head of specialist factual at Channel 4, a role she took on in November 2018, before departing the pubcaster in July of this year to join Naked.

Following a merger with sister label Boundless, Salaria now oversees all output across the prodco’s slate of entertainment, factual and specialist factual programming, including The Rap Game UKGrand Designs and 100% Hotter, as well as the recently announced Planet Sex, fronted by Cara Delevingne.

The organization also announced new appointments to the TV Foundation’s board of trustees: Channel 4′s head of creative diversity Babita Bahal; Apple TV’s production executive for Europe/Africa Jackie Myburgh; and Fulwell 73′s head of scripted Saskia Schuster.
