Former Expectation Entertainment executive Nick Mather has been appointed to the role of creative director at global content and TV prodco Possessed, part of ITV Studios.
Over the last three years, Mather (pictured) served as creative director of entertainment at Peter Fincham and Tim Hincks’ West London-based multi-genre indie.
With more than 20 years of industry experience, prior to Expectation, he spent 10 years at Endemol Shine as creative director of the central team, where he created a raft of entertainment formats including BBC1′s quiz show Pointless.
Mather has also served as MD of Remarkable Television and as a consultant at Tuesday’s Child.
The veteran entertainment formats specialist has additionally created and co-created a number of successful series, including Tenable, Goldenballs, 101 Ways to Leave a Game Show and The Almost Impossible Game Show.
Mather has previously worked with Possessed MD and founder Glenn Hugill at Endemol Shine.
“Glenn and I gravitated to each other 15 years ago at Endemol,” said Mather in a statement. “He and his incredible team have built a creative powerhouse at Possessed. It feels like coming home; which is handy because that’s where we work now.”
“With Nick’s arrival, alongside an extended role as chairman for Adam MacDonald, there is no blinking in our collective dare to believe,” added Hugill.
Possessed’s content library currently features several returning formats, including ITV’s primetime series 5 Gold Rings and BBC1′s physical quiz show Catchpoint, the latter of which is produced with ITV Studios label 12 Yard. Both formats have grown legs, with 5 Gold Rings traveling 10 territories, and Catchpoint journeying internationally to Greece and Hungary.
Additional series in the catalog include three seasons of ITV game show Cash Trapped and The Switch, Channel 10 comedy panel show Cram, and Nickelodeon game show Keep It Spotless.
