Kevin Hart’s Laugh Out Loud (LOL) has elevated Jeff Clanagan from president to CEO and upped EVP and general manager Thai Randolph to president and COO in a shuffle that will see Hart move from CEO to chairman of the company.

In his new role, Clanagan, an award-winning producer and longtime business partner of Hart, will focus on the content side of the business, including development, production, distribution and experiential.

Clanagan also founded Codeblack Films and Codeblack Digital, an entertainment company dedicated to super-serving the Black community worldwide.

Randolph, meanwhile, will focus on strategy and operations, including overseeing corporate development, marketing, ad sales, finance and strategic partnerships.

She had previously worked with WPP, Publicis, Sony and Facebook.

Clanagan (pictured) and Randolph both have been with LOL since it was established in 2017. They will continue to share business development duties.

LOL is also expanding its executive team with the appointment of Candice Wilson to head of production and development.

Wilson joins LOL from Lionsgate, where she worked on acquisitions and development at Codeblack Films. She oversees all development production for LOL, including Die Hart on Quibi, Lyft Comics and others.

“As leaders, Jeff and Thai have been a tremendous force in growing the company with me. Together, they have expanded our distribution network, brought in amazing content partnerships, and led the expansion and growth of our divisions across the company,” Hart said in a statement. “My move to chairman and Jeff and Thai’s new roles, along with our additional new hires and appointments, allow us to continue building on our promise and will keep us on track to become the biggest comedy company in the world.”

In June, the company struck a multi-platform co-production deal with Brent Montgomery’s Wheelhouse Entertainment to develop, produce and distribute a portfolio of unscripted programming, including Lyft Comics. Among LOL’s unscripted fare is the recently-premiered Snap series Coach Kev.
