Food Network slates Buddy vs. Christmas, TLC to document Buddy Valastro injury recovery
Buddy vs. Christmas will see Valastro and his team of bakers go up against expert crafters — including a scenic designer, a glassblower, an animatronics expert and a Lego builder — to produce holiday creations, with the best design crowned the winner.
The series premieres Nov. 22 at 10 p.m. ET/PT.
Buddy Vs. Christmas was filmed prior to an accident in Valastro’s home, where his right hand was impaled. TLC has set a two-hour special following Valastro’s road to recovery, from his multiple surgeries to physical therapy and his first days back on the job. The special premieres Dec. 23 at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
UKTV, North One Television team for Eddie Eats Christmas
UKTV channel Dave and All3Media-owned North One Television have teamed for Eddie Eats Christmas, fronted by the former World’s Strongest Man Eddie “The Beast” Hall.
The 4 x 30-minute series will see Hall take on eating challenges featuring traditional Christmas foods from a variety of communities around the UK in each episode.
Eddie Eats Christmas follows the UKTV Original series Eddie Eats America, which saw the strongman travel to the U.S. and attempt a series of eating and physical challenges.
The series was commissioned for UKTV by head of comedy entertainment, Iain Coyle, and ordered for Dave by Luke Hales, channel director. John Quinn is executive producer for North One Television, with Christopher Amess producing and directing. It will be distributed by All3Media International.
Eddie Eats Christmas is filming now — in line with all COVID-related guidelines, according to UKTV — and will broadcast on Dave later this year.
