NATPE Miami will move to an entirely virtual format for 2021 in light of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
The NATPE (National Association of Television Program Executives) online program will be held Jan. 19 to 22, with the Marketplace component taking place Jan. 19 to 29.
Sessions will cover themes such as revenue (investment, advertising and subscription); audience (research, marketing and promotion); content (acquisition and distribution sales); and production (new content).
Additional topics include station groups, web series, global, its Latin Summit and the industry awards shows.
On Feb. 16, NATPE will host a new event titled Segregation, Segmentation & Storytelling. The summit puts the spotlight on BlackTV, and seeks to advance conversations around the business of Black talent, perspectives and voices in television programming.
More details will be announced in the coming months, organizers stated.
“True to our mission to provide connections, business intelligence and new opportunities, NATPE is facing head-on the new reality by launching NATPE Virtual Miami,” said NATPE president and CEO JP Bommel in a statement. “This is a people’s business and until we can get together in-person, and we will, our plans are to continue to pivot and produce a compelling and engaging virtual series of events to serve our members and the expanded content community.”
