Media industry veterans T Ferguson (Backstory) and Patrick Jager (CORE Innovation Group) are partnering with Realscreen on the distribution of the first season of their new video series: The Distillery.
The series features virtual conversations with leaders across the diverse creative communities, focusing on navigating what Jager (pictured left) and Ferguson (right) call “the craziness of our collective now,” while discussing and debating ideas about what comes next.
“We wanted to cut through some of the anxiety and frustration we are all experiencing and to create a safe space to have conversation and talk honestly about the state of our business,” commented co-host Ferguson in a statement.
“Given the huge challenges facing all the creative industries right now — including the non-fiction and unscripted screen content world — this is a crucial time for leaders in these communities to share ideas, intelligence and inspiration,” added Barry Walsh, editor and content director for Realscreen. “That’s why we’re excited to present this distinctive and captivating series to our audience.”
Each episode of The Distillery brings together three experts from unique portions of the creative community. “We wanted to make sure that regardless of the topic, we have unique perspective that many of us would not hear otherwise — and to be proactive about getting our fellow creatives excited and engaged,” noted co-host Jager. Topics will include the art of pivoting in times of uncertainty, how COVID-19 has impacted business, sharing personal “wealth” with fellow creatives, and areas of growth that Jager, Ferguson and guests see in the mid- and long-term.
Guests for the six episodes of season one include David Collins (Scout Productions), Brendan Gaul (UM Worldwide), Michael Wayne (KIN Community), Joey Chavez (HBO Max), Noah Pollack, Christina Ochoa, Kelly Hill, and many more. The first season launches November 10th with special guests Shab Azma (Flutie Entertainment), Chris Vivion (SpaceStation) and Josh Sugarman (Vampire.Pizza).
The Distillery is produced by CORE Innovation Group and Backstory. Look for more on the first episode next week on Realscreen.com, and visit www.thedistillery.live for updates and more info.
