UK independent production trade association Pact is organizing a delegation of a minimum of 38 production companies for the upcoming Realscreen Summit.

Pact, supported by funding from the UK government’s Department for International Trade, has frequently organized delegations for Realscreen‘s flagship event, which this year will take place virtually from Jan. 25 to Feb. 4.

“In these difficult times it’s really important that we try and build on our strong international relationships,” said Dawn McCarthy-Simpson MBE (pictured), Pact’s managing director of business development and global strategy, in a statement. “Organizing a UK delegation to attend this year’s virtual Realscreen Summit was a no-brainer as it’s such a key market for UK Indies to showcase their content and connect with international buyers.

“The U.S. is the UK’s biggest buyer of TV content so we know that our large delegation will receive a warm welcome and the new virtual event will provide access to key industry leaders as well as important pitching and networking opportunities for our members,” she added.

Rupert Daniels, Director, Creative, Lifestyle and Learning, UK Government Department for International Trade, commented: “The Department for International Trade (DIT) is very happy to once again support the UK delegation at the Realscreen Virtual Summit 2021. Pact and DIT have a longstanding successful partnership in delivering UK delegations at a variety of international marketplaces, with Realscreen an especially key event given the importance of the U.S. market to UK Independent TV companies.

“During the ongoing global COVID crisis, we at DIT are seeking to adapt Government support to fit the new and innovative ways now available for the UK Creative Industries to continue to do business,” he continued. “The impressive online portal created by the Realscreen team is a good example of this, and we look forward to assisting UK companies to connect with international clients and maintain our status as a leading supplier of top quality TV content to the world.”
