Magnolia Network, Discovery’s multi-platform joint venture with Chip and Joanna Gaines, is growing its slate of original programming with Zoe Bakes, from Andrew Zimmern‘s Intuitive Content.
Zoe Bakes sees Minneapolis baker Zoë Francois (pictured) teach viewers how to create desserts from their homes. Executive producers include Zimmern along with Intuitive Content SVP Patrick Weiland and Patrick McMahill, VP of production and development.
Intuitive is also producing the previously announced Family Dinner for the network. The Minneapolis-based prodco, which recently marked five years in business, has produced such series as How to Survive a Murder (Reelz), What’s Eating America (MSNBC), Crash Test World (Discovery) and Emmy Award-winning The Zimmern List (Travel).
Magnolia Network, originally scheduled to begin broadcasting in October 2020, announced in April it would be postponing its launch due to COVID-19 production delays.
Set to launch in 2021, the network revealed in August it had some 14 original programs in production with an additional 22 original programs in development. That programming includes a revival of the hit HGTV renovation series Fixer Upper, to be produced by the Gaines’ production company Blind Nil.
Zoe Bakes joins Magnolia Network’s previously announced originals, including Growing Floret, Home on the Road with JohnnySwim, deVOL Kitchens, Restoration Road with Clint Harp, The Fieldhouse, Super Dad, Home Work, The Lost Kitchen and Inn the Works.
