Aiden Darné, former SVP of production at Vice Media Group, is joining Shutterstock Inc.’s newly minted creative arm, Shutterstock Studios, as head of global production.

Darné (pictured) will oversee global production and strategy for the studio, which launched Nov. 19.

At Vice Media Group, the executive ran the studio for commercial and editorial production across North America. There, he launched the internal brand production studio at Vice Media, Vice+ Productions, and was part of the leadership team behind A+E’s network Viceland.

Prior to Vice, Darné was vice president of production at Viacom — now ViacomCBS — where he ran the East Coast production teams for Viacom Digital Studios, which was responsible for producing digital originals for MTV, Comedy Central, Nickelodeon, BET and Paramount Network.

The division is designed to expand Shutterstock’s existing offering by providing custom content matched with production tools and services at scale.

Through its network of photographers, cinematographers, producers, directors and other creators, Shutterstock Studios will provide brand storytelling, full production services, creative ideation, storyboarding, script writing, talent booking, influencer management and post-production.
