Discovery’s home improvement network HGTV has commissioned a six-part series that will star lifestyle expert Clinton Kelly as he helps newfound millionaires upgrade to the ultimate high-end home.
Produced in-house by Discovery Studios, Self-Made Mansions follows Kelly (pictured) as he tours various luxurious properties – from multi-acre farms and sprawling country estates to Mediterranean-style mansions – with entrepreneurs who have struck it rich from inventions that include The Cut Buddy and Kwik Hang.
Throughout the series, Kelly will lead the luxe real estate hunt to help a former police officer, a bartender and families who worked paycheck to paycheck trade in their old residences for a major home upgrade.
Self-Made Mansions is slated to premiere Jan. 8 at 8 p.m. ET/PT across HGTV. A “first look” at the series will also be made available to viewers on New Year’s Day, Jan. 1 at 9:30 p.m. ET/PT.
Executive producers on the series include Bob Schermerhorn, Chaney Moon and Suzanne Rauscher.
“These entrepreneurs have so much creativity and determination when it comes to their inventions,” said Clinton. “It’s such a privilege to be able to share with them my advice and imagination when it comes to buying their new homes.”
