James O’Reilly has been named the next creative director of London-based prodco Twenty Twenty. He’ll join the company in spring 2021.
O’Reilly (pictured) has served more than 10 years at Blast! Films (as CD for the past four), overseeing much of that company’s development slate – from titles such as The Secret Life of the Zoo and the award-winning Jade: The Reality Star Who Changed Britain at Channel 4, to Forensics: The Real CSI, The Big Hospital Experiment and Reported Missing at the BBC. He has also led the company’s growth into the U.S., winning series on networks including A&E, Investigation Discovery, Nat Geo Wild and HGTV, as well as the company’s first, as yet unannounced SVOD commission.
O’Reilly will report to Leanne Klein, MD of Wall to Wall and Twenty Twenty. His remit will include the creation and production of new and returning programs across the slate.
Twenty Twenty is part of the Warner Bros. International Television Production group. Though currently based in London, the company plans to move its HQ to Bristol next year.
The prodco has created series such as First Dates, which has launched in 19 different territories around the world; The Choir franchise, now celebrating over 13 years of collaboration with Gareth Malone; the award-winning doc series A House Through Time, presented by David Olusoga; and First Dates Hotel, five series of which have aired on Channel 4. Forthcoming projects include All That Glitters, a series fronted by Katherine Ryan which seeks to find Britain’s most talented new jeweler.
