The upcoming edition of the Realscreen Summit will host a panel session featuring some of the top documentarians in the genre today.
The session, “Propelling Premium Documentary,” shines the spotlight on women working in documentary. As docs enjoy a renaissance with the advent of more platforms — and viewers — embracing the genre, female directors are creating some of the most important, entertaining and culturally significant doc content being seen today. In this session, moderated by Everywoman Studios’ Abby Greensfelder, women filmmakers will discuss their work and the process of bringing it to the world, and offer insight on the challenges and opportunities that exist for women in the doc sphere now.
Panelists will include Garrett Bradley (Time), Betsy West and Julie Cohen (RBG), Dawn Porter (John Lewis: Good Trouble) and Kirsten Johnson (Dick Johnson is Dead).
The session takes place on Thursday, February 4 at 11 a.m. ET. For more information on it, and other news about the Realscreen Summit, visit the official website here.
