London-based factual producer Raw TV, a division of All3Media, has appointed former BBC Studios executive Fiona Clarke to the newly created role of chief operating officer.

In the post, Clarke (pictured) will be tasked with supporting the business across all operational areas and will work closely alongside managing director Piers Vellacott and founder Dimitri Doganis when she boards the company in the new year.

She will directly report into Raw CEO Joely Fether.

Clarke joins the Emmy Award-winning Raw (Don’t F**k With CatsThree Identical Strangers, Gold Rush) from the BBC where she held various key roles throughout the Science, Natural History and Documentary units. She most recently served as director of business and commercial where she was tasked with driving the success of BBC Studios Productions Factual. Her unscripted production credits include Netflix’s The Surgeon’s Cut and BBC1′s Blue Planet II.

Prior to the BBC, Clarke held the title of head of business affairs at Discovery UK and spent a number of years working in the independent sector across a range of productions.

“Fiona has an incredible overview of all elements of production and a deep understanding of the challenges and changes needed within our industry, alongside a real appreciation of the operational needs of a growing business,” said Raw’s Fether in a statement. “Piers and I are incredibly excited to be bringing someone into the company with such a fantastic reputation to work and support us both in the next phase of Raw.”
