New York- and Los Angeles-based talent and literary agency Innovative Artists has appointed long-time unscripted TV producer Rabih Gholam to head its new alternative and unscripted department.
Gholam (pictured), most recently EVP of development at Evolution Media (The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Vanderpump Rules, Botched), will be based in Los Angeles with responsibility for steering the agency’s business in the unscripted and alternative spaces.
He will guide Innovative Artists’ clients through the alternative television landscape from concept through to development and production.
The new department is intended to complement the agency’s broadcasting and hosting division, led by Babette Perry.
“Rabih’s extensive experience and relationships across the spectrum of unscripted, late night, variety and digital platforms will allow him to bring a tremendous range of opportunity to our clients, and his managerial style is a perfect fit for our company’s ‘client first’ approach to representation,” Innovative owner Scott Harris said in a statement.
Gholam began his career in the NBC Page program before transitioning into unscripted production. He produced a string of late night and reality shows, and went on to be an executive producer at MTV during its expansion into reality programming.
Previously, he served as EVP of alternative programming at both 51 Minds and Ryan Seacrest Productions.
Gholam went on to become the president of unscripted content at Studio 71, where he launched the multi-platform content creator’s unscripted division.
