Realscreen is partnering with filmmaker and executive producer Chuck Braverman and his Westdoc Online video series to bring his interviews with acclaimed documentarians and non-fiction content industry figures to its readership.

The latest episode features documentarian and journalist Alexandra Pelosi, who is discussing her 13th film, American Selfie: One Nation Shoots Itself. With the Showtime project, the filmmaker, who shoots and directs her films herself, is attempting to take a temperature reading of her divided country by filming person-on-the-street interviews during various events, ranging from Black Lives Matter protests to Trump rallies and iPhone unveilings.

She also discusses the current sociopolitical climate and the “complicated moment” in American history that has emerged out of the polarization of opinion, propelled in part by media — social and traditional.
