Toronto-headquartered content company Blue Ant Media has promoted Julie Chang to EVP, international coproductions.
In her role, Chang will launch and lead coproductions for the international content producer, distributor and channel operator, across the company’s integrated business units. Part of her remit includes identifying, structuring and closing content creation deals and leveraging financing opportunities with global partners for the company’s international production arm, Blue Ant Studios; distribution arm Blue Ant International; and its linear and streaming channels, T+E, Cottage Life and Smithsonian Channel Canada and Love Nature worldwide.
The promotion also finds Chang joining Blue Ant’s corporate management team, where she will report to Michael MacMillan, the company’s CEO & co-founder.

Prior to her new role, Chang was VP, international coproductions, where her focus was working with partners around the world to grow Blue Ant Media’s production group. Prior to joining Blue Ant Media, Chang held several executive posts at various entertainment companies including as SVP of business and legal affairs with Peace Point Rights and Peace Point Entertainment Group, and at Lionsgate Films and Alliance Atlantis. She was also an associate at Lewis Birnberg Hanet, LLP where she represented international distributors and executive producers for scripted/lifestyle/factual programming.
