Discovery-owned HGTV has commissioned a second series set to star popular interior designer and Love It or List It star Hilary Farr.

Produced by Balthazar Entertainment in partnership with Glass Entertainment Group, Tough Love with Hilary Farr will follow Farr as she uses her “invaluable design expertise and life experience” to help struggling families in the midst of unique life challenges that strain their homes and relationships.

The eight-episode series is slated to premiere later this year. The project is executive produced by Brian Balthazar, Steven Kantor and Nancy Glass.

“I know that when life gets messy, having a home that is both beautiful and functional goes a long way toward alleviating stress,” said Farr in a statement. “Developing creative solutions for living space challenges and using design to improve how families live together are my passions and they are the reasons I love being an interior designer.”

Elsewhere, the lifestyle network has greenlit a two-episode pilot for a series that will guide first-time buyers on the path to home ownership.

Tentatively titled My First Time (pictured), the pilot traces former educator Amina Stevens as she provides a fresh approach to real estate in the hopes of helping clients feel at ease while looking for their beginner homes.

My First Time is produced by Red Arrow Industries. The project is executive produced by Danny Downing, Ryan Hardison and Jaime Paxton Morey.
