Amazon Studios is promoting Marc Resteghini to U.S./global head of development and hiring veteran entertainment executive Laura Lancaster as head of series.
The move is part of the studio’s strategy to realign its topline team with a focus on the areas of development, series, IP and talent management.
In Resteghini’s (pictured right) new role, he will oversee the executives who shepherd Amazon Studios’ drama, genre, comedy, animation and unscripted projects from concept through to the end of the titles’ first season.
Jon Wax, head of genre development, and Chris Castallo, head of unscripted, will continue to oversee their respective teams and slates, reporting to Resteghini.

Amazon Studios will expand its U.S./global IP and talent management team over the next several weeks.
A search is underway for a senior executive who will work closely with the studio’s leaders to scale and deliver more projects for Prime Video, IMDb TV and other content divisions at Amazon.
Resteghini, Lancaster and the IP and talent management head will report into Albert Cheng, COO and co-head of Amazon Studios Television, and Vernon Sanders, co-head of Amazon Studios Television.
