Food Network hits the road with the comedy troupe, the Try Guys in an upcoming special No Recipe Roadtrip with the Try Guys (working title).

The special is a fresh spin on their popular Food Network series, Without a Recipe, which sees the quartet of creators Keith Habersberger, Ned Fulmer, Zach Kornfeld, and Eugene Lee Yang baking and cooking without a recipe. Pre-production is currently underway on No Recipe Roadtrip with the Try Guys (working title), with production slated to begin later in Q1.

The Try Guys is an award-winning comedy documentary series that has garnered over 2 billion views. On camera, the Try Guys are known for their willingness to try anything from labor pain simulators to Alaskan dog sledding. They are the founders of the independent production company 2nd Try, authors of the New York Times-bestselling book The Hidden Power of F*cking Up, and data-driven video producers who have cracked the science of making uplifting viral entertainment for the digital landscape. They made their feature film debut with the documentary Behind The Try which premiered number one on iTunes.

Meanwhile, Magnolia Network, a joint venture between Chip and Joanna Gaines and Discovery, Inc., has added a second original series with the musical duo Abner Ramirez and Amanda Sudano Ramirez of Johnnyswim titled At Home with Johnnyswim.

On the heels of the cancellation of Johnnyswim’s 2020 tour due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the eight-episode series follows the couple’s life at home with their kids and how they’ve pivoted and adapted their musical career after being on the road.

The series joins the growing slate of original programming coming to Magnolia Network, which is set to launch July 15 on discovery+ and in the forthcoming MAGNOLIA app. At Home with Johnnyswim is produced by Chip and Joanna Gaines’ production company Blind Nil.

And last but not least comes Pop My Pet a special streaming exclusively on discovery+. The show follows veterinarians Dr. Jackie Duenas, Dr. Cody Creelman, and Dr. Grant Dunbar, as they take on extreme cases of animals – from dogs to gators – who are afflicted with a variety of skin and other ailments.

Pop My Pet is produced for discovery+ by Renegade 83, an Entertainment One (eOne) company. David Garfinkle, Jay Renfroe, Greg Goldman, and Eugene Young are the executive producers for Renegade 83. For discovery+, Dawn Sinsel is executive producer and Pat Dempsey is supervising producer.

The show will stream March 1.
