The film will release across all TVOD/digital platforms and DVD throughout North America beginning May 11, with an international expansion planned for later this year.

Bastards’ Road tells the story of U.S. Marine Combat Veteran Jon Hancock’s healing journey on foot across the United States.

Brian Morrison is director/producer, with Erin Kenway (The Prison Within) executive producing. Mark Stafford and Nick Kovacic (Brewmore) are co-producers.

Copenhagen-based CPH:DOX is set to open its 2021 festival with Danish director Phie Ambo’s new documentary film 70/30 (pictured).

The film follows the Danish Minister of Climate, Energy and Utilities Dan Jørgensen and young environmentalists as they work to create Denmark’s first Climate Act.

70/30 will be screened in CPH:DOX’ main competition, DOX:AWARD. The film is produced by Malene Flindt Pedersen (Hansen & Pedersen)

CPH:DOX 2021 runs April 21 to May 2.

Federation Entertainment, Boreales launch label

Pascal Breton and Lionel Uzan’s Federation Entertainment and Fred Fougea’s Boreales, both based in France, have jointly formed a new label, Boreales Federation.

The label is dedicated exclusively to the production of premium documentary series and films addressing the natural world, wildlife and environmental issues.

Fougea will spearhead the label’s activities with the cooperation of Myriam Weil, who has served as head of Federation’s documentary division since January 2019.

The first production to launch under the new label is Mediterranean, an international co-production for France Televisions exploring the Mediterranean ecosystem, current threats and its preservation.

The six-hour series began filming in May 2020 and is expected to be delivered in spring 2022.

Mediterranean is produced by Boreales Federation in partnership with France Televisions and BBC Studios, in co-production with Terra Mater (Germany), Anemon (Greece), and Rai/Fabula (Italy).

The series, co-distributed by BBC Studios and Federation, has been pre-sold to NDR (ARD), RTS, Servus TV and Head Antena.

Further projects already in the advanced stages of development will also be announced shortly, including a series about Europe in association with France Televisions.
