Global streamer Netflix is adding another romantic reality series to its roster.
The Wedding Coach hails from Sirens Media (an ITV America company) and is slated for an April 7 premiere. The six-parter follows comedian Jamie Lee (pictured, center), on her quest to rescue couples-in-need before their big day and on the wedding day itself. Each episode finds Lee teaming with a different comedian “plus one” to help squash the couple’s drama and focus instead on the wedding.
Romance-oriented unscripted content has provided the streaming service with buzz-worthy hits such as Love Is Blind, Dating Around, Love on the Spectrum and Indian Matchmaking, among other series.
Sirens Media, which was acquired by ITV America in 2014, is the company behind such unscripted fare as Bravo’s The Real Housewives of New Jersey and Cooking Channel’s Cheap Eats. The Los Angeles-headquartered prodco recently appointed former Lifetime non-fiction exec Mioshi Hill as its president.
