Creative exec Brian Tannebaum has landed at The Roku Channel, ostensibly picking up the reins from his time at the shuttered short-form streamer Quibi.

As Realscreen reported in January, Roku acquired Quibi’s catalog of some 75 shows and documentaries to stream on its Roku Channel. The manufacturer of the Roku digital media player has the exclusive global distribution rights to the shows, and will make the content available for free on an ad-supported basis.

Quibi’s unscripted and documentary content included Chrissy’s Court Punk’dMurder House FlipSingled Out and The Sauce, to name a few.

According to a report in Deadline, Tannenbaum will head up alternative content for The Roku Channel with an eye towards moving the platform into original unscripted content, and manage the non-scripted portion of Quibi’s content, including working with producers and talent as plans continue to debut these shows on The Roku Channel later this year.

Prior to Quibi, Tannenbaum was SVP of creative and business affairs, alternative programming at Lionsgate, where he guided development and production for such series as Kevin Hart: What the Fit on YouTube and Netflix’s Selling Sunset, among others.
