Carmelo Anthony, 10-time NBA All-Star and executive producer, and his longtime business partner Asani Swann are officially unveiling their multi-platform content outfit Creative 7.

Anthony and Swann will develop and produce premium content spanning documentaries, scripted TV, feature films, animation, podcasts and more, with the goal to champion unheard narratives and voices.

Creative 7 is already working on a robust slate of projects, including one with Emmy-winning documentary filmmaker Jonathan Hock and his production house Hock Films (The Best That Never Was), to be announced this spring.

The company is also developing narrative projects with Will Packer of Will Packer Productions, Plan B Entertainment and Get Out and BlackKklansman producer Shaun Redick and Yvette Yates Redick’s Impossible Dream Entertainment, respectively.

Creative 7 has produced and is currently producing a number of previously-announced projects as well, including Un Sueño Real, a recently launched docuseries with HBO España, Exile Content Studio and Newtral that gives an inside look at the women’s Real Madrid soccer team; and Universe, an IDA Award-winning documentary about Miles Davis’ protégé, Wallace Roney.

Additional projects are expected to be announced in months to come.

“We are excited to finally announce Creative 7 and share the purposeful projects we have been dedicated to developing over the past two years,” Anthony said in a statement. “Asani and I founded Creative 7 because we both share a passion for creating original content that will give a voice to the silenced, advocate for the underserved, and celebrate the resilience of the human spirit.”

“In addition to collaborating with legendary filmmakers and paramount creative minds in the industry, we are excited to also be working with and championing emerging talent who are positioned to be the next great generation of filmmakers,” Swann added. “At the core, our goal is to amplify unheard voices and groundbreaking stories that push the envelope and will leave a profound impact. As a Black woman, I am proud to co-found a company like Creative 7 that celebrates diversity and inclusion and will strive to push representation in this industry forward.”

As co-founder of Creative 7 and founder of her own entertainment and business management firm, Business Beyond the Ball, Swann has been Anthony’s vital counterpart for well over a decade.

In addition to his NBA career, Anthony last summer co-founded and launched the Social Change Fund, which is dedicated to investing in and supporting organizations that advocate for the Black community.
