An extensive array of non-fiction titles will be launched at this year’s Digital MIPTV online spring market, running April 12-16. Ahead of the excitement, Realscreen presents the latest in a series of roundups highlighting some of the titles being shopped.

CINEFLIX RIGHTS

UK distributor Cineflix Rights has revealed its slate of factual programming launching at MIPTV 2021.

Extra Life: A Short History of Living Longer (4 x 60 minutes; Nutopia for PBS US) reveals the stories of the innovations in science and medicine that have doubled the human lifespan in less than a century and celebrates the unsung heroes of public health; while The Story of Late Night (pictured; 6 x 60 minutes; Cream Productions for CNN) takes viewers on a journey through late-night television’s most memorable moments.

Other factual highlights include returning seasons of My Big Family Farm, World’s Most Scenic Railway Journeys, Storm Stories: The Next Chapter, Step Up to the Plate, Inside Taronga Zoo and Homicide: Hours to Kill.

“This will be my final Cineflix Rights launch slate at MIPTV, and I believe it’s the strongest yet,” Chris Bonney, outgoing CEO, rights, Cineflix Media said in a statement. “On the factual side, fascinating new blue-chip science and history documentaries sit together with returning seasons of proven hits, and escapist entertainment to provide something for every buyer.”

GLOBAL AGENCY

Istanbul-headquartered distributor Global Agency is bringing a selection of formats to this year’s Digital MIPTV market.

Titles being shopped include Boost or Split, a game show in which contestants have the chance to multiply a money pot in a test of knowledge, throwing skills and gambling instinct; and All is Mine, in which four couples test their knowledge and composure in a series of games, with the opportunity to win cash prizes.

Is That Really Your Voice challenges celebrity teams to distinguish skilled vocalists from untalented performers without hearing them sing; while Keep Your Light Shining: Remastered is an update of the long-running format — a 13-episode competition in which singers receive just a few seconds in the spotlight to win over two celebrity judges and a live audience.
