The finalists for the second edition of Realscreen and Everywoman Studios’ Propelle initiative, a female-focused accelerator program, have been chosen.

The program was created and developed by Everywoman Studios’ CEO Abby Greensfelder (pictured) and Realscreen, and was launched at the 2020 Realscreen Summit in New Orleans.

Propelle aims to further develop the careers of up-and-coming female creators by pairing them with female-owned production companies and female CEOs for project workshopping and mentoring. Through this, female creators will gain access to an established production company and various industry contacts, in addition to getting business advice and creative direction on developing ideas ready to be pitched and sold.

Each finalist will be given one complimentary registration to attend Realscreen Live 2021, as well as mentorship and workshopping of their submitted project in the weeks leading up to Realscreen Live 2021, readying them to pitch their idea to potential network partners during the virtual event.

Realscreen will provide a virtual meeting room at Realscreen Live 2021, where participating network development executives will each host a table and hear pitches from the four Propelle program finalists.

At Realscreen Live 2021, Everywoman Studios will select and announce the winning project to receive up to US$20,000 to further develop their project into production.

The participating mentors for 2021 are Kim Woodard (Lucky 8 TV), Raeshem Nijhon (Culture House), Aisha Corpas Wynn (Macro TV Studios) and Sharon Levy (Endemol Shine North America).

The finalists for this year’s edition of Propelle are: Lyn Lodevico Azusada of Marmedia; Lisa Durden of Lisa Durden Unlimited Productions; Jimena Mancilla of Libres Films; and Akanksha Sood Singh of The Gaia People.

Runners up receiving honorable mentions for this year are: Asha Dahya; Katie Stippec of 168th Street Entertainment; Ife Bethel-Sears of PRVLGD Ltd.; Jillian Janairo of ProgressPop; Victoria Holden of Chalk Productions; and Louise Pollard.

The runners up will each receive a complimentary registration to Realscreen Live 2021 to further their opportunities to meet and connect with potential partners and buyers. The runners up will also be invited to a virtual meet and greet opportunity with the participating mentors and Everywoman Studios during Realscreen Live.

Realscreen Live takes place virtually from June 7-11. For more information, click here.
